June Flower of the Month: Rosemary

This month, we’re celebrating a plant that’s fragrant, beautiful, and rich in meaning – Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis).

Often recognised for its place in the kitchen, rosemary is so much more than a culinary herb. As an evergreen shrub, it brings vibrant green colour to the garden all year round. In early spring, you’ll spot its delicate blue flowers starting to bloom – a quiet signal of the warmer months ahead.

But what we love most about rosemary is its deeper meaning.

Known as the herb of remembrance, rosemary holds a special place in our hearts and in many of our floral tributes. It symbolises memory, love, and connection  which is why you’ll often find it included in arrangements meant to honour someone special.

Rosemary can also be easily propagated from summer cuttings, making it a lovely way to grow your own living reminder of someone dear.

Whether it’s in your garden, your kitchen, or woven thoughtfully into a bouquet, rosemary is a gentle, grounding presence, and the perfect choice for our June flower of the month.
